The strengthening method of chrome zirconium copper

Chrome zirconium copper is a kind of metal material, mainly used in the welding of machinery manufacturing industry. Chromium zirconium copper can be strengthened in the following ways.

1. Deformation strengthening

The mechanism of cold deformation strengthening of chrome zirconium copper is that dislocations are constantly produced during deformation, the density of dislocations increases, the dislocations are entangled with each other, and it is difficult to move, which makes the deformation resistance and strength become larger. At the same time, the decrease in conductivity due to shape is not very large. This strengthening method is often used for alloys of good plasticity. When work hardening, the metal undergoes cold working or plastic deformation at a temperature below the metal recrystallization temperature, thereby increasing its strength and hardness. When the cold-worked metal is heated to the recrystallization temperature, the color induced dislocation is greatly reduced, so that in fact most of the previous strengthening is lost.

2. Solid solution strengthening

The phenomenon that chrome zirconium copper can improve the strength and hardness of metal by dissolving solute elements to form solid solution is called solid solution strengthening. Solid dissolved gold will lose most of its strength at about 1/2 of the temperature-scale solid phase line temperature.

3. Grain boundary strengthening

The grain boundary strengthening of Cr, Zr and Cu is the strengthening effect of grain boundary preventing the formation of dislocation movement. Other conditions being the same, the finer the grain size of the metal material, the more grain boundaries, the greater the room temperature strength.

4. Precipitation reinforcement

Precipitation enhancement refers to the dissolution of solute elements into the matrix metal and then rapid freezing to form metastable saturated solid solutions: atomic segregation groups or particles of intermetallic compounds are then formed in the matrix during precipitation heat treatment.

Chrome zirconium copper is suitable for charge-related fittings of fusion welders, but is generally used for electroplating fittings.
