What is the difference between hot dip galvanizing and electric galvanizing?

Plating is the process of plating a thin layer of other metals or alloys on some metal surfaces using the principle of electrolysis, so as to prevent metal oxidation (such as rust), improve wear resistance, electrical conductivity, reflection, corrosion resistance (copper sulfate, etc.) and improve the appearance and so on.
When electroplating, coating metal or other insoluble materials as the anode, the workpiece to be plated as the cathode, coating metal cation is reduced to form a coating on the surface of the workpiece to be plated. In order to eliminate the interference of other cations, and make the coating uniform, firm, need to use the solution of metal cations containing coating to do electroplating solution, in order to keep the concentration of metal cations of coating unchanged.

Hot dip galvanizing is mainly used in industrial products, hot dip galvanizing layer is generally above 35μm, the standard requirements are about 80μm, some even as high as 200μm, good coverage ability, dense coating, in the years, constantly protect the inside, mainly used in a variety of line accessories or important durable industrial products. Electroplating layer is more uniform than the hot dip layer, generally thinner, from a few microns to dozens of microns. By electroplating, can be in mechanical products for decorative and protective of various functional surface layer, still can repair the wear and machining error of workpiece, electric galvanized layer is thinner, mainly in order to enhance the corrosion resistance of metals (coating metal with corrosion resistant metals), increase hardness, prevent wear and tear, improve electrical conductivity, thermal stability and surface smoothness, and beautiful.
